The Automotive Mechanics career certificate program provides the graduate with the
basic skills and technical knowledge to properly diagnose and repair late model vehicles,
along with problem solving techniques and computer diagnosis. EMCC also offers a two-year career technical program that leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree in Automotive Technology.
Students are taught in modern, well-equipped labs utilizing late model vehicles for repair procedures as well as electronic diagnostics. Practical experience is given in the following automotive service and repair areas as recognized by ASE and NATEF: engine repair, automotive transmissions, manual drive trains and axles, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical/electronic systems, heating and air-conditioning systems and engine performance systems.
