Learning In Our Neighborhood

East Mississippi Community College is proud to sponsor the LION (Learning in Our Neighborhood) program. The LION program provides a wide range of high-quality, low-cost educational opportunities taught by enthusiastic expert instructors.  From art and cooking to languages and literature to life and wellness and everything in between, we seek to provide a warm, welcoming and fun environment where community members can explore, create and grow.

Most classes meet once a week for six weeks at locations throughout Columbus, MS. Participants pay of nominal $35 fee to cover registration costs, which entitles them to take up to three classes per term. Additional classes and specialty seminars cost $10 each.

Previous course offerings include Adult Ballet, Wine Appreciation, Journalism & Radio Broadcast, Knitting, etc. For a listing of current classes, please click here.
