A total of 148 EMCC students have been invited to join the Eta Upsilon chapter of Phi Theta Kappa on EMCC’s Scooba campus this Spring, and five dozen of them participated in an induction ceremony for the national honor society Monday night in the Stennis Hall auditorium.

Both numbers are believed to be the largest group inducted into PTK from EMCC’s Scooba campus in more than a decade.

Dean of Instruction Dr. Jairus Johnson welcomed a big crowd for Monday’s ceremony, and students were addressed by EMCC President Dr. Scott Alsobrooks and Mississippi State University’s Transfer Admission Counselor Katelynn Potter.

Concluding remarks were provided by Vice President of Instruction Dr. James Rush and a reception hosted by MSU was held in the board dining room of the F.R. Young Student Union afterward.
