EMCC'S EARLY CHILDHOOD ACADEMY LAUNCHES PILOT PROGRAM

The Mississippi Community College Board has named the Early Childhood Academy (ECA) on East Mississippi Community College’s Golden Triangle campus the September “Early Childhood Academy of the Month.” The announcement coincides with the ECA’s rollout of a pilot program designed to improve the quality of early education offered at participating child care centers to ensure preschool children are prepared to enter the public school system.

ART INSTRUCTOR'S WORK TO BE FEATURED IN MERIDIAN EXHIBIT

Paintings and drawings by East Mississippi Community College art instructor Cynthia Buob will be featured in an exhibit in Meridian as a result of her "Best of Show" placing during a juried regional art competition. The Cynthia Buob Invitational Exhibit will run from Sept. 28 to Nov. 30 at the Meridian Museum of Art, located at 628 25th Ave. Buob will be the featured speaker during an opening reception for the exhibit that will take place Sept. 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. More


Enrollment at EMCC in career technical programs for the fall 2019 term jumped 10.6 percent over the previous year, from 874 students in the fall of 2018 to 967 students this year.
