East Mississippi Community College has hired Meridian resident Amy Ivy to serve as the college's school nurse and to oversee infection control procedures to minimize the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus.

A total of 139 East Mississippi Community College academic and career-technical students completed their coursework over the summer and qualified to graduate. More

Huxford and OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville are providing COVID-19 testing to EMCC students as part of a community outreach service.

Dr. Cameron Huxford and registered nurse Kathleen Hilbun with OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville tested 101 East Mississippi Community College students for COVID-19 Thursday afternoon at the college's Scooba campus in a community outreach effort to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. More


The East Mississippi Community College Department of Athletics, with the support of the East Mississippi Community College Board of Trustees individually elected not to participate in fall football should the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference begin league play Oct. 1 as previously announced. As a result, EMCC is currently withdrawing from league play for the fall 2020 season due to safety challenges created by the novel coronavirus pandemic.
