NEW MEMBERS INDUCTED INTO SCOOBA CAMPUS PHI THETA KAPPA

An induction ceremony for new members of the Eta Upsilon chapter of Phi Theta Kappa on EMCC’s Scooba campus took place Oct. 16 in Stennis Hall auditorium.

A total of 16 East Mississippi Community College students have accepted invitations to join the Eta Upsilon chapter of Phi Theta Kappa on EMCC’s Scooba campus this Fall, and 15 of them participated in an induction ceremony for the national honor society Wednesday afternoon in the Stennis Hall auditorium.

EMCC President Dr. Scott Alsobrooks welcomed the crowd for Wednesday afternoon’s ceremony, and Mississippi State University was again on hand to explain MSU’s hefty PTK scholarships for transfers.

Vice President of Instruction Dr. James Rush was also on hand to congratulate new inductees, who were treated to a reception in the lobby afterward.

Faculty advisors for the Eta Upsilon chapter are Derrick Conner and Shannon Pendergrass.

New inductees who have officially joined this fall include William Anderson, O'Najae Marshall, Ashley Treece, James Ezell, Lataya Cunningham, Jamesha Fears, Elizabeth Adesanya, Krystal Boren, Veyounce Lucious, Raniya Cunning, Talabria Lockhart, Karington Lewis, Madison Perkins, Tauriel Pratt, Miller Blaylock and Kennedi Wagner.
