January 27, 2021

The Golden Triangle Early College High School on East Mississippi Community College’s Golden Triangle campus is accepting applications from eighth grade students in Clay and Noxubee counties who are interested in attending the high school beginning their ninth-grade year.

Eighth grade students and their parents who would like more information about GTECHS are encouraged to attend one of three remaining information nights. The first information night took place the night of Jan. 24 for rising ninth grade students from the West Point Consolidated School District. Another information night for those students and their parents is planned for Feb. 1.

There will be two information nights for eighth grade students in the Noxubee County School District on Feb. 10 and Feb. 21. All three of the remaining information nights begin at 6 p.m. in the Lyceum Auditorium on EMCC’s Golden Triangle campus.

GTECHS staff and students will be on hand to provide information about the school.

The deadline for the eighth graders to apply to attend GTECHS is March 4, 2022. Applications can be picked up at one of the Information Nights or from the students’ home school Guidance Office. Applications are also available online at www.eastms.edu under the “Programs” and “Early College High School” tabs.

“The information nights are a great way for students and their families to get a feel for what we have to offer,” Savely said. “Many of our students, for whatever reason, are eager to pursue their high school experience in a non-traditional environment. We would encourage those students who feel like they may be interested in learning more to come out for one of our information sessions.”
