EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE
Two medical helicopters landed at EMCC’s Golden Triangle campus Sept. 30 – one from North Mississippi Medical Center Care Flight, the other from UMC Air Care of Meridian. Their crews gave EMCC students from the EMT-Basic program, and volunteer firefighters from Clay County, tours of the aircraft and discussed how emergency care changes in an airlift situation. One of the crew members of the UMC Air Care helicopter was Sam Marshall of West Point, an adjunct EMCC instructor who teaches EMT-Basic classes. Program director John McBryde of EMCC schedules visits like these every year to give his students a hands-on look at the profession they’ve chosen. n More: Daily Times Leader, 10-4-09 edition n More: Photo gallery, helicopter arrival n More: EMCC health care programs
