Tech Prep Goals Tech Prep Mission Statement: The mission of Tech Prep is to connect students through career pathways to be globally competitive lifelong learners.
Tech Prep Goals/Objectives: Goal 1. Articulation: Objective 1a: Honor statewide articulation agreements in addition to any local articulation agreements already in place. Objective 1b: Market articulation to counselors, students, parents and business/industry, teachers and administrators. Objective 1c: Contact secondary students who scored 80% on CPAS in programs that articulate and follow-up with them at the post-secondary level. Objective 1d: Hold annual articulation meetings with all vocational programs to facilitate collaboration and professional development including business and industry.
Goal 2. Program of Study: Objective 2a: Link secondary and post-secondary institutions through non-duplicative sequences of courses in career pathways. Objective 2b: Use work-based and work-site learning in conjunction with business and all aspects of industry.
Goal 3. Develop Tech Prep programs for secondary and post-secondary programs: Objective 3a: Support opportunities for: meeting academic standards set by state, link secondary and post-secondary programs, work-based and work-site learning, use of education technology and distance learning.
Goal 4: Professional Development for teachers, faculty and administrators: Objective 4a: Support effective implementation of Tech Prep Programs through professional development which includes: joint training, industry needs and applied curricula instruction and assessment.
Goal 5: Professional Development programs for counselors and special populations personnel to: Objective 5a: provide information to students regarding Tech Prep programs, Objective 5b: support student progress in completing Tech Prep programs, Objective 5c: provide information on related employment opportunities, Objective 5d: ensure that students are placed in appropriate employment or further post-secondary education, Objective 5e: stay current with needs of business and industry, Objective 5f: provide comprehensive career guidance and academic counseling to participating students, including special populations.
Goal 6: Equal access to the full range of technical preparation programs (including apprenticeships) to individuals who are members of special populations: Objective 6a: provide equal access to all special populations students through activities of the goals and objectives of Perkins IV.
Goal 7: Preparatory Services that Assist Participants in Tech Prep Programs
Goal 8: Coordinate with activities conducted under Title I. Objective 8a: Communicate and collaborate with all career and technical service providers under Title I.
