Program and Eligibility What is Student Support Services?
Student Support Services is one of the three original TRIO programs. It is a federal grant funded through the U. S. Department of Education. The purpose of this program is to enhance opportunities for eligible students to persist in college by making good grades and sound personal and social decisions, retain these eligible students from one academic year to the next, assist eligible students in meeting graduation requirements, and help them transition to a 4 year institution. |  | | | | Who is eligible to participant in the program?
Any student enrolled in an academic program at EMCC who is a: - Low-income college student
- First generation college student (neither parent has a bachelor's degree)
- Student with a documented disability
- Student must want to transfer to a 4-year senior institution to obtain a bachelor's degree.
